„Museum in Residence was founded by Lizi Sanchez and Martin Cordiano at the beginning of 2020, in London, with the aim of creating an across borders, collaborative network of artists. It is an itinerant museum with no fixed residence, a not for profit organisation with a collection of pocket-sized works donated by contemporary artists. The collection belongs in its entirety to all the artists who have contributed with their work and it’s available to them for hosting and exhibiting it.  When showing the museum, the artists can also invite new artists to join in.
Last year, after more than one year of organisation, and after the Covid restrictions were lifted in London, we showed the collection for the first time at Southwark Cathedral. We showed around 35 works from artists living in many places and with very diverse practices: performance, sculpture, painting, photography, textiles, baking, etc. The museum then travelled to Italy where we showed 36 artists and now we are very happy to be showing it in Berlin.
The works in the collection are varied and we have no media restriction, we only ask, in the case of material work, for it to not be larger than15 cm and to please consider that we need it to be portable as the aim is for the museum to easily travel to other destinations.“ Lizi Sanchez and Martin Cordiano
